Former Dundee GP Dr Jim McKellican celebrates
50 years as an organist in Blairgowrie Parish Church, 2004
Our latest exhibition looks at some of the many ways in which local healthcare staff have spent their time off. This includes drama, music, building model steam engines and full-size yachts, taking stunning photographs of outer space and going to the Antarctic with Shackleton. Find out about these and much more in the exhibition (full-size yacht not included!).
In the late 1970s, the Ninewells pantomimes attracted sell-out audiences!
Dr Matthew Armour (right) with his plane, the Flying Flea, c.1930s. Armour was an Anstruther GP who not only built this wooden aeroplane but was also a watercolour artist and breeder of budgerigars.
Dr W Fyffe Dorward was a Dundee GP who had a passion for bee-keeping and amateur cinematography. These stills are from a 1930s film which combined both interests.
