Part One: 19 February - 5 March

Mon-Fri: 9.30am-5pm, Sat: 10.30am-4.30pm

An exhibition exploring human relationships with artworks and objects that no longer have a function.

Artworks made by DJCAD students who each explore individual concepts within their practice are taken out of their original context to share the gallery space with Museum Service's mathematical/scientific objects.

Through encountering these works and objects in the space the viewer is asked to create their own dialogue of meaning, while investigating 'what makes an object an artwork?'.

Part Two: 14-18 March

Closing event for the Collection(s) Part 2: 18 March, 5-7pm

University museum pieces are investigated through a contemporary practice which explores their re-animation as new found art objects. This emphasises the freedoms which come when working with objects that have lost their purpose in a current framework. The workshop also analyses the importance of the archive through documentation of the event.

The exhibition and workshop project have been devised by Exhibitions' Student Curatorial Team.
