Jim Pattison

Glasgow based artist and printmaker Jim Pattison is an honorary fellow of Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design. The artist uses digital technology to manipulate images and information, creating works that discuss medical processes and terminology. His practice has evolved through the development of two- and three-dimensional visual proposals, which consider the scientific complexities of medical research. His collaboration with scientist Brian Robertson has led to works that communicate the complexity of tiny channels of communication in a cell’s membrane called potassium (K+) ion channels.

Born in Dundee, Pattison has exhibited in internationally and his work is featured in a number of collections such The McManus Galleries, Alvar Aalto Museum, Glasgow Museums, Aberdeen Hospitals Collection, University of Dundee, Dundee City Council and Abertay University.
