Type Cast | A writing workshop with Kirsty Hendry

Type Cast
A writing workshop with Kirsty Hendry
10 November, 2-4pm

Through his pioneering use of photography, Ulay has consistently questioned notions of identity and self-image. Type Cast is the first in a series of events to accompany Cooper Gallery’s exhibition Ulay: so you see me.

This workshop, led by Kirsty Hendry explores writing, caption, and found image to examine the various ways we perform ourselves for one another through the things we encounter, record, and share.

Using the existing contents of participants phones as a starting point, participants will work together to play and experiment with notions of character borrowed from horoscopes, T.V, cinema, and literary fiction to explore the tensions between representation, sincerity, and authenticity.

These collaborative outcomes will be shared on the Cooper Gallery Instagram and blog.

Places are free and can booked by emailing
