An exhibition of new work by DJCAD Level 3 Illustration students created in response to ‘mystery’ archive boxes curated by the staff at the University of Dundee Archive Services. The 33 boxes containing materials such as records, photographs, maps, plans, books, technical drawings & objects were opened in a new light allowing for a fresh interpretation of their themes to be reached. Topics included architecture, medicine, transport & travel, textile and whaling industries, local estates & social history etc. This exciting collaborative project and exhibition highlights the University’s archive collections as a rich resource for education and artistic practice.
The Matthew Entrance Galleries are located at the main entrance of Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design over Level 1 & 2.
