Absence - Student Curatorial Team

Absence is a small scale visual art exhibition curated for the unique exhibition space, the Matthew Cabinet, by level 3 Fine Art student, Tamara Richardson.

A social and moral detachment is questioned by the work on show, which includes wax castings and etched prints. The selected artists Alana Brown, Eve Kerr, Tamara Richardson, Leo Sarkisyan and Sandra Schnieder challenge the voyeuristic nature of the cabinet by exploring political and philosophical themes, offering their work for examination in the artists' Absence.

Tamara Richardson is an exhibiting Artist and member of the Student Curatorial Team, DJCAD. Earlier in 2014 Richardson curated Constructed Materiality in Cooper Gallery Project Space, which showcased the work of Morgan Atkinson, Darryl Gowans, Steph Graham, Lily Hassioti, Tamara Richardson and Fergus Tibbs; six Fine Art students at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design. Each of the selected artists shared a contemporary understanding of environment and materials within their visual art.
