Our impact is felt from the centre of Dundee, where we are absolutely central to the city’s future plans and prosperity, to the countries of the developing world where we are helping cure devastating diseases like malaria, and giving people life-changing opportunities for education.

More than a quarter of our student population is international, speaking dozens of languages and coming to the city from every corner of the globe.
The University of Dundee has been ranked 1st in Scotland, 3rd in the UK and 14th globally for overall average student satisfaction in this year’s International Student Barometer (ISB).
With feedback from over 2.5 million students worldwide across all student types, levels and years of study, the ISB is the world's largest annual survey of international students. It reflects on four main aspects of the university experience for international students – Learning, Living, Support and Arrival.

More than 180 institutions in dozens of countries were included in the survey, including 42 in the UK, of which eight were in Scotland.
In terms of partnerships, The University of Dundee has over 200 active agreements with international partners from over 15 countries. Our partnerships change lives internationally, an example of this
is the joint project between the University of Dundee Medical School, NHS Tayside and the Dasman Diabetes Institute in Kuwait. For the past six years this partnership has been enhancing the diabetes education and management skills of healthcare professionals throughout Kuwait.

Tayside is internationally recognised as having arguably the best information and knowledge of a diabetes population anywhere in the world and the clinical network model developed in the region has consistently demonstrated and improved outcomes for people with diabetes. The Tayside model has been introduced and customised within Kuwait, through an initiative between the University of Dundee, NHS Tayside and Aridhia Informatics (a University spin out company) with the Dasman Diabetes Institute and Ministry of Health in Kuwait.

The burden of diabetes is a significant problem in Kuwait where it has been estimated that one in four of the adult population suffers from the disease. Since 2011 the University of Dundee, a world leader in clinical diabetes care and diabetes research, in partnership with the Dasman Diabetes Institute, with its mission to prevent, control and mitigate the impact of diabetes in Kuwait have created and delivered a Postgraduate Masters programme in Diabetes Care, Education and Management. This programme is available to a wide range of Kuwait based healthcare professionals who study part-time while in work. Through face-to-face and innovative blended, interactive teaching the programme enables healthcare professionals to provide more effective care for their patients. They gain specialised knowledge of diabetes alongside educational and management training that supports them in effective communication with colleagues and patients.

The University's partnership with the Dasman Diabetes Institute continues to produce high calibre graduates from the Diabetes Care, Education & Management programme. At graduation 2017 we celebrated the achievements of 48 graduates who join a group of 139 total graduates across the Kuwaiti healthcare system. Through workplace projects, dissertation research and collaboration these graduates are working together to support the development of diabetes healthcare provision across Kuwait.

The University has also recently launched International College Dundee (ICD) which offers an alternative way to begin an undergraduate or postgraduate degree at the University of Dundee – by focusing on the development of English language and university level study skills while acquiring core subject knowledge.

As an International College Dundee international student, you will begin your academic career by studying courses that develop language skills through subject study. This means that you acquire the concepts and knowledge needed for your degree, but also develop your language skills to a higher level before entering the main part of the degree.
Dundee is truly an international city – a fact reflected in our campus and our reach across the world.
