Talking food scanner lets blind people shop safely
A new "speaking" barcode-scanner can read out food ingredients to blind and visually impaired people or give warnings on allergy-inducing food stuffs. The scanner, dubbed Tele-eye by scientists at the universities of Strathclyde and Dundee, can identify the product and read food ingredients out loud, giving warnings over the presence of common allergy foods such as nuts
