It was confirmed yesterday the appointment of Vandermeulen - a coach with Scotland at last year's Commonwealth Games, and with Great Britain at the Sydney Olympics - to the post of high-performance swimming coach for Tayside and Fife. The post is to be funded by an award of £80,000 over four years from the sportscotland Lottery Fund and additional finance from the Tayside and Fife Area Institute of Sport and Scottish Swimming. Based at the University of Dundee, Vandermeulen will lead and direct the development of the performance swimming programme within Tayside and Fife and also work in Scottish Swimming's high performance coaching team under new performance manager Tim Jones.
