Welcome to Dundee

Photo opportunity 9.45am, Tuesday 16 September, Caird Hall, Dundee.

First year students will be welcomed to the University of Dundee tomorrow by the University of Dundee Principal Sir Alan Langlands, the University Rector Fred MacAulay and other key members of the University community.

University Chaplain Rev Dr Fiona Douglas will address the students to tell them to take advantage of University life and enjoy all that university has to offer. She will tell them about the services in the Chaplaincy and that they should never feel that they have not a friend to talk to.

Student President Chris Bustin will welcome the students to the University and to the Students' union introducing the new students to the itinerary for freshers' week and the student welfare services that are available to them throughout the year.

The first year students are expected to arrive in their scores tomorrow to witness the academic procession and officially start their University careers. 2,435 new students are beginning undergraduate degrees at the University of Dundee this year, up 200 on last year after a record rise in applications to the University.
