Fred learns to tell jokes in Chinese and Gaelic!

photo of Fred MacAulay and Ann Stevens

In order to mark the European year of Language, University of Dundee Rector Fred MacAulay accepted a challenge by the Languages in Lifelong Learning to learn to tell some jokes in two very different languages.

Chinese tutor Liang Qing Zhong and Gaelic tutor Ann Stevens have been a great help in this during Fred's radio show.

The Languages Challenge is also a good opportunity to raise money for charity. If you would like to sponsor Fred in this activity and raise money for the Maggie Centre (Ninewells) in the process a sponsor sheet is in the LifeLong Learning office on the first floor of the Tower Building.
