Poets launch new collections

Photo opportunity: 6.50pm, Wednesday 13 October, Dundee Rep Theatre Cafe, Tay Square, Dundee

Colette Bryce, current creative writer in residence at the University of Dundee and Kathleen Jamie, previous writer in residence, who has just won the Best Collection of Poetry Forward Award in London for her book 'The Tree House' will both give poetry readings at their book launch party on Wednesday 13 October.

Colette completed her latest collection 'The Full Indian Rope Trick' during her fellowship at the University. This is her second book of poetry, which has been published by Picador, as has Kathleen Jamie's 'The Tree House'.

Kathleen will give a reading from her book 'The Tree House' that just scooped the £10,000 Best Collection award at the 2004 Forward Poetry Awards. The book is also short-listed for the TS Elliott prize to be announced later this year.

Through her post as writer in residence Colette offers literary guidance to staff and students as well as forging literature-related links with the local community through activities including public readings.

The launch will be held in the Dundee Rep Theatre Café on Wednesday 13 October from 7.00pm.
