University golfers win against Royal and Ancient

The University of Dundee golf team once again beat the Royal and Ancient (R & A) Golf Club of St Andrews in a competition yesterday (Wednesday 15 October) at the Old Course, St Andrews.

Overall the University won 4 matches to 2. Eight of the 12 members of the University golf team are R & A bursars.

Results as follows (University students named first):

Match 1 - Jonathan Todd and Andrew Burton beat George Macgregor and Harry Thomson

Match 2 - Frazer Bone and Mark Cameron beat Peter Bucher and Malcolm Campbell

Match 3 - James Milne and Michael Clinch lost to Alec Bisset and Douglas Tully

Match 4 - Andrew Keir and Barry Dewar beat Alf Cattanach and Jim Rait

Match 5 - Alastair Lomax and David Evans lost to Colin Devine and John Rankin

The match format was four-ball/better-ball with no handicap allowances.
