Cappella Nova - open workshop

Cappella Nova Scotland's leading professional vocal ensemble will host a special open workshop at the University of Dundee this weekend.

On Sunday 19 October, Director Alan Tavener and composer Tommy Fowler will lead participants, with and without experience, in singing for fun, effective warm ups, vocal tips and some medieval music. Cappella Nova specialises in early (medieval and renaissance) and contemporary music.

Participants will have the exciting opportunity of helping Tommy and the quartet write and perform a new piece as the grand finale. Anyone is welcome to go along and tell the group what they like to sing and listen to, and be a 'fly on the wall' as the group goes through a mini rehearsal.

Graeme Stevenson, Music Co-ordinator at the University of Dundee said: "I am delighted to welcome Cappella Nova to the University. They have an outstanding reputation and an impressive repertoire. Their workshop promises to be a not to be missed experience for anyone who is interested in singing."

Places on the workshop are still available and can be booked though Graeme Stevenson on 01382 348148. The workshop runs from 10.15am to 4.15pm on Sunday 19 October.
