Around 150 students from all over the world will be given the chance to sample each other's culture and food at one of the most popular evenings in the University of Dundee's calendar of events for international students.

The International Food Evening is being held in Dundee University Students' Association, and according to Susan Scott, International Student Support worker, it is an ideal introduction to many different cultures.

"The International Food Evening offers a great opportunity to bring all nationalities together where everyone can learn more about each other's culture in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere," said Susan.

Students are encouraged to come along in their national dress, and also to bring some music from home with them. The University is home to students from every corner of the globe - around 80 nationalities are represented across the institution - the mix of cultures makes for an event packed with colour.

The event has been supported by local restaurants including the Jahangir Tandoori, Discovery Chinese, Taza Indian Restaurant, the Grampian Hotel and the University's own Chaplaincy coffee bar. There will also be entertainment from belly dancers and salsa dancers, and a DJ.

The evening's activities are organised by the University's International Student Support service.
