Professor Sir Philip Cohen of the School of Life Sciences at the University of Dundee returns to Gowriehill primary school tonight, Thursday 22 March at 7 pm, to speak to the pupils and parents at the school's open evening where pupils will present their scientific labours from their recent Science Week.

Sir Philip has been a supporter and visitor to Gowriehill Primary School science club for over two years and recently made a donation that financed the visit of three interactive science workshops from the Edinburgh Science Festival: StarLab, MadLab and Good Vibrations. These workshops allowed pupils to take part in hands-on experiments.

Mrs Marion Wain, science co-ordinator at Gowriehill, who co-ordinated science week said; "This has been a very interesting and stimulating event for all the pupils".

Sir Philip is the Director of the Medical Research Council Protein Phosphorylation Unit and Director of the Wellcome Trust Biocentre, within the School of Life Sciences at the University of Dundee.ENDS
