DJCAD Dean Georgina Follett and Cherry White, Secretary of the Faculty of Art & Design, underwent a training session with Fire Safety Officer Larry Fortune following the installation of an Evac-Chair in the Matthew Building.
The device allows the safe and speedy evacuation of people who are unable to make their own way down stairs in the event of a fire.
Larry said, "This is a potentially life-saving piece of equipment and I would be happy to offer advice to any members of staff who are interested in installing it in the area they work in."
