Fred MacAulay is New Rector at University of Dundee

Fred MacAulay was tonight (Friday 9 Feb) elected rector of the University of Dundee by a runaway majority of students.

The results of the vote were:
Fred MacAulay - 681 Abd al-Fattah El-Awaisi - 164 Richard Whiteley - 154 Nick Johnston MSP - 7
Total votes - 1,006

The new rector officially takes up his duties immediately and could attend his first University Court on Monday (12 February). An inauguration ceremony will follow later in the year.
