Traditional carols by candlelight

A highlight of the University of Dundee calendar - the traditional annual service of Nine Lessons and Carols in candlelight in St Paul's Cathedral will take place this weekend on Sunday 14 December at 5pm.

A popular favourite with the University and local community, the Carol Service will feature the University choir, Chamber Choir and staff and students reading the lessons.

The University Chaplain Rev Dr Fiona Douglas will lead the service and extends a welcome to everyone in the local community.

She said: "The annual University Carol service is such a special occasion for our community. It is a peaceful and beautiful service and very atmospheric in candlelight. I would encourage anyone who would like a break from the hectic preparations for Christmas to join us on Sunday for a traditional Christmas Carol Service."

The University's Music Co-ordinator Graeme Stevenson is musical director for the service and will be conducting the choirs.
