Dundee University students raise £200 for local Sheltered Housing

Charity spirit was in the air at Dundee University Students' Association last Friday, when collections took place for local charities to mark the end of term. A series of events throughout day, including staff acting as Santa Claus in return for donations, raised £400 for these bodies.

One such charity to group to benefit was the sheltered housing in Pennycook Lane in Dundee's West End. DUSA President Matthew Marr yesterday visited the complex to present a cheque for £200 to warden Susan Wright.

Matthew Marr, DUSA President, said:

"It has been a tradition for some year's now that Dundee University students give back to the community at this time of the year. Friday was not only an enjoyable day, but also a great day's work from both staff and students to raise this money.

"Especially at this time of the year, it is important to support worthy local causes, and we're delighted to be able to donate this money to Pennycook Sheltered Housing."
