Threefold celebrations as cousins graduate with their aunt

Triplicate celebrations will be in order as one family sees two cousins graduate with their aunt from the University of Dundee this week.

Rachaela Mongiat, Valerie Peebles and Margaret Ballantyne have had the unique experience of sharing student life together.

Rachaela and Valerie, who both went to Harris Academy, took up places at the University of Dundee in 1995, Rachaela at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design and Valerie at the School of Nursing and Midwifery. They joined their aunt Margaret who had entered the faculty of arts and social sciences via the Summer Access course at the University of Dundee.

Rachaela completes Part I of her RIBA qualification in architecture when she graduates with a BSc in 10 July before moving on to Part II which begins with a year placement abroad. On the same day Valerie receives her Dip HE in nursing following which she begins work at Victoria Hospital in Dundee.

Margaret will not be able to forget her studies for a MA (Hons) in English and Geography in a hurry. In October her eldest son Steven hopes to begin a degree in engineering, also at the University of Dundee.
