Double first for star student

Itís a double 'first' for University of Dundee student and bass player Mark McClelland whose first album is due to be released just weeks after he graduates with first class honours on 9 July.

Mark McClelland, a former pupil of Sullivan Upper School in Northern Ireland has been awarded the degree of MA (Hons) in financial economics - one of only three students to achieve first class honours from the Department of Economics in this yearís graduation list.

As bass player for the band Snowpatrol, Mark will have further cause for celebration this summer as their first album entitled Polarbears is released. Signed with Jeepster Records and Sony Music Publications, Mark and the band were delighted when their video, 100 Things You Should Have Done In Bed, was recently chosen as Single of the Week by MTV.

Their biggest gig to date was in New York and Mark hopes to appear in more live appearances after graduation when he plans to devote himself to the band full-time.
