DJCAD students launch takeover to exhibit work
Photo opportunity: 7.30pm on Saturday, 1st March at Generator Projects, Mid Wynd, Dundee.
A group of final-year students from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design (DJCAD) will this weekend take
a Dundee gallery over for an exhibition demonstrating what they have learned during their studies.
'Four Days x Four Years' opens at Generator Projects, Mid Wynd, on Saturday, 1st March and features the work of seven
students. The exhibition showcases a range of multimedia installation work that expands the boundaries of material usage,
form and visual making in a fresh and interactive show.
The students exhibiting are Uist Corrigan, Andrew Dunlop, Heather Fulton, Robbie Hamilton, Ellis Main, Lily Morris,
and Moira Watson.
Lily said that as the group approached their Degree Show, they were considering their professional practice after
University.
'Organising 'Four Days x Four Years' has provided us with some really valuable experience in this field. The exhibition
showcases our diverse range of practices, bringing together elements of sculpture and interactive installation as well as
photography and performance.
'The work on display is testament to the accessibility of facilities throughout DJCAD and the technicians whose help
is vastly appreciated. Generator generously allowed us to make use of their entire space for the four days, which is
really exciting for us, especially after us all having already exhibited pieces in the space before.
'As there is no central theme running throughout the exhibition, it has allowed for us to open up our practices such
as getting involved in collaborations and revisiting works explored in previous years while making use of the experience
we've gained throughout our time at DJCAD.'
The free exhibition will remain open at Generator Projects from 12-5pm each day until Tuesday, 4th March.
Generator was established in 1996 to supporting creative practices across Dundee through a diverse programme of
exhibitions and events. The organisation is run by and for members, and its project and exhibition space was
established to allow creative practitioners the opportunity to exhibit.
