University and Rep offer new play on professional development

Legal, management and human resources professionals can combine a night of theatre with their professional development in a new collaboration between the University's School of Law and Dundee Rep.

The School of Law is offering Continuing Professional Development with a difference with the help of the Rep's community actors.

The actors will portray a workplace incident and its consequences in subsequent investigation and disciplinary meetings. There will be the opportunity for the audience to participate and comment about proceedings but observation is also welcome.

The theatre-style event takes place on Wednesday October 30th in the University's Dalhousie Building on Old Hawkhill, Dundee. The event is not exclusively focused at the legal profession and would be beneficial to those working across management and human resources.

Elizabeth Comerford, Deputy Director of the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice at the School of Law, said, 'We are excited to be working with The Rep again in providing such an innovative CPD event. This is great opportunity for those working in management and human resources who conduct disciplinary meetings within their organisation to actively learn about employment law.'

The event will be led by John MacMillan, Partner and Accredited Specialist in Employment Law at MacRoberts LLP and will be chaired by Cate Ritchie, Chartered FCIPD and Managing Consultant of 121HR Solutions.

This is an accredited CPD event and is worth 2 CPD hours. The cost per delegate which includes light refreshments is £30, with trainee solicitors able to attend at a discounted cost of £10.

Those wishing to register for the event can download the booking form at: http://bit.ly/GTHFyI.
