New edition of 'Dundee Writes' to be launched

The latest edition of 'Dundee Writes', the creative writing magazine from the University of Dundee, will be launched tonight (Monday, 26th March).

The publication of the popular title's third issue will be celebrated at the 'HotchPotch' open mic night, which takes place at Braes, Perth Road, from 7.30pm

Dundee Writes is collection of creative writing by students, staff and recent graduates of the University. It is produced and edited by postgraduate students on the MLitt course in Writing Practice and Study, with contributions from all corners of the University community.

The free magazine is supported by Literary Dundee, and distributed throughout the city. Law, History and Medicine are among the areas of the University represented in the latest edition.

Josephine Jules Andrews, who has co-edited the first three issues of the magazine, said, "We are delighted with this new issue. The magazine is a testament to the creative skills of the whole University, with contibutors to Dundee Writes so far including writers from English, History, Law, Medicine and Continuing Education."

Hotchpotch Dundee is a monthly evening event for all those interested in writing, with open mic slots to allow new writers to read aloud from their work. The event is free and open to all.
