Publishing bursaries available

The University of Dundee is offering bursaries of up to £5,000 to postgraduate students in the College of Arts and Social Sciences who wish to work in publishing.

The students will be given the opportunity to work for Dundee University Press (DUP), a successful publishing company that has, since its inception in 2007, published 55 books with 50 more in the pipeline.

The students must commit to spending up to 800 hours in the DUP office engaging in a range of roles, including marketing and promotion. Opportunities for development in editorial, production or other aspects of publishing may be available depending on the candidate's interest, availability and experience.

Applications from those with a background in the humanities or law are particularly welcome. Each bursary will be paid in monthly instalments.

DUP Publishing Manager Anna Day said "The standard and volume of applications we receive is always impressive, and this is a fantastic opportunity for students who wish to work in publishing to get hands-on experience and get paid at the same time."

To apply please send your CV and a letter of no more than 500 words to: Anna Day, Publishing Manager, DUP Ltd, Tower Building, University of Dundee - a.c.day@dundee.ac.uk

The deadline for entries is 31st July.
