ISE launches charity golf challenge

Golfers are being urged to show their support for men living with and beyond cancer by signing up for the Charity Golf Challenge Cup being launched by the Institute of Sport and Exercise at the University of Dundee.

The event at Drumoig Golf Course on Friday May 11th is being staged to raise awareness of the benefits of physical activity for men living with and beyond cancer.

ISE is a leading provider of fitness programmes as part of cancer care programmes, adding another aspect to the world renowned cancer research and support services developed at the University of Dundee. The Institute is developing their CanRehab (Cancer Rehabilitation) exercise referral pathway for men and women following cancer diagnosis.

"We are already getting great support from local business and sporting clubs but we would like as many people as possible to sign up for the golf challenge," said Hazel Ednie from ISE.

"We will have lots of prizes on offer, a fantastic course to play on, and hopefully a very competitive event."

The event is a four-person team competitionformat, playing to the Stableford format. Entry is £100 per team of four, or £25 individual entry (individuals will be allocated to a team).

The entry fee includes a buffet and goodie bag. There will also be a prize raffle on the day offering prizes including rounds at some of Scotland's top courses, accommodation packages and golfing equipment.

Drumoig is an 18-hole, par-72 course set on 250 acres of spectacular Fife countryside.

Entry forms and further information are available from Hazel Ednie at ISE on 01382 385177 or email h.c.ednie@dundee.ac.uk.
