'Robert The Bruce' talking to adult learners

The history of Arbroath Abbey will be brought to life this Saturday for students on the University of Dundee's Continuing Education classes.

'Anything to Declare! A Journey through History, Nationhood and Democracy' is an event organised jointly by the University and Historic Scotland featuring lectures, tours of the Abbey and a conversation with Robert The Bruce.

40 people will attend the day's events after all the places were snapped up almost as soon as they were made available.

The University has a formal partnership with Historic Scotland which allows adult learners to access the resources managed by Historic Scotland.

"The partnership with Historic Scotland allows us to extend the range of learning opportunities that we can offer, and this event has already been so popular that we will certainly be looking to offer more like this in the summer," said Kaye Stevenson, Head of Continuing Education at the University of Dundee.

Continuing Education at Dundee offers over 120 courses covering a wide range of subjects including Art & Design, Art History, Creative Writing, History & Archaeology and Genealogy. The 2012/13 Courses for Adults brochure will be available from early June 2012.
