Outstanding Life Sciences students from the University of Dundee will be recognised for their academic achievements at a prize-giving ceremony next week.
Students at the College of Life Sciences who have achieved success in their studies through hard work and determination will receive prizes and be formally congratulated at the Dalhousie Building at 5pm on Friday, 12th November.
In total, 51 students will receive special recognition at the College of Life Sciences Student Awards event. This annual event celebrates the remarkable achievements of students from the last academic year.
Leading the way, with eight and seven awards respectively, are 20-year-olds Egle Gaurilcikaite and Katarzyna Kozyrska. Egle, originally from Lithuania, has just entered the 2nd year of her Biomedical Sciences degree, and counts an Armistead Bursary and an Ede & Ravenscroft Prize among her awards.
Poland-born Katarzyna is in the final year of her BSc Molecular Genetics course. She has also won an Armistead Bursary in addition to the Roger Booth Prize and Stephen Williamson Prize.
Professor David Coates, Dean of Learning & Teaching, congratulated the prize-winners, saying, 'This is an important evening as we celebrate the achievements of our students. It is quite humbling to be involved in teaching such able and committed students. These young people represent all our futures, and we are justly proud of them.'
