Rubber duck hunters net prizes
Expertise in searching out rubber ducks hidden around the campus has proved fruitful for a trio of students at the University of Dundee.
The team of Cameron Riley, Maria Macbeth and Chris Calder were the fastest to track down eleven ducks concealed on the campus by the University’s Enterprise Gym, the unit which aims to help students to develop business enterprise and entrepreneurial skills.
The trio won a set of hospitality passes to Rangers’ final home game of the season at Ibrox Park this weekend, with student president Andrew Smith presenting them with their prizes at the University today (Thursday May 6th).
'It was great fun and also a bit of an adventure as I managed to fall over a wall and scrape myself up a bit!' said Cameron Riley.
Participants in the duck hunt ran all across campus finding clues to the locations of the ducks and answering riddles and questions about entrepreneurialism.
Sponsors of the competition were Enterprise Rent A Car, Scottish Institute for Enterprise, Braes Pub and Apex Hotels.
The Enterprise Gym is part of the University of Dundee's Graduate School of Natural Resources
Law, Policy and Management. It aims to help all interested students to develop business enterprise
and entrepreneurial skills. This is done with the support of the local business community, both
through financial sponsorship of events and prizes and through direct involvement in delivering
the many programmed activities. The E-Gym shows students that in becoming more 'business ready' they also become more entrepreneurial.
