Life Sciences students explore career opportunities

Over 100 life sciences students at the University of Dundee are expected to attend a careers conference aimed specifically at the sector today.

The Life Sciences Careers Conference is taking place in the Tower Building at the University and is the first such event the institution has held that specifically targets students in life sciences.

A range of speakers are attending from the public and private sectors, offering general careers advice.

'The conference is essentially targeted at all of our life sciences students and we have people coming from every level, first-year through to PhD students,' said Stephanie MacLean, Careers Adviser to the College of Life Sciences. 'Our general advice to students is to start thinking about their career pathways as early as they can, and today’s event can really help them decide on future options.'

The event has been organised by students in conjunction with the University’s Careers Service. It runs from 2pm to 6.30pm.
