The University of Dundee's School of Accounting & Finance will later this week confer honours upon high achieving graduates at a special graduation party held to mark the culmination of their hard work.
The party, to be held at the Accountancy Lecture Theatre, will take place from 2.30pm onwards on Wednesday, June 23rd. The students will receive their degrees during the University's annual graduation ceremony at the Caird Hall that morning. The afternoon party will allow prizewinners to celebrate their awards with family, friends and classmates.
Professor Christine Helliar, Dean of the School said, 'This event enables the prizewinners to receive their awards in person in front of all their friends and relatives, before they start their professional careers.
'Many of our graduands have already found jobs in Accounting, Finance and in other sectors and we look forward to hearing from them in the future and to share their successes. We are delighted that the prize sponsors are able to join us on this special occasion - they help us encourage good performance and acknowledge the success of our students.'
One of the awards is the inaugural George Stout Memorial Prize, given in honour of Professor Stout, who recently passed away. His wife, Mrs Dorothy Stout, will present the award to Luis Alcada, the best student at Finesse, a finance game that Professor Stout helped to develop.
