New satellite image of UK snow cover shows north/south divide

Credit to 'NEODAAS/University of Dundee'

A growing north/south divide in snow cover is vividly shown in the latest image captured by the University of Dundee's Satellite Receiving Station.

Whilst Scotland, Wales and the north of England remain almost completely coated in snow, the contrast with southerly regions is clearly visible.

The image was captured at 12.57pm today (Wednesday, 8th December) by the NASA satellite Aqua. It is free to use for editorial purposes but please credit 'University of Dundee' in any use.

If you register for free on the Station's website (see - www.sat.dundee.ac.uk/registerql.html), you can then view and download higher resolution versions of the image from the following link - www.sat.dundee.ac.uk/gallery.
