Scottish Cup to come to ISE
Photo opportunity: 11am-3pm at Institute for Sport & Exercise, Old Hawkhill,
Dundee on Saturday, April 3rd. Football fans will get the chance to have their picture taken with the Scottish Cup and take part in activities promoting healthy living.
The world’s oldest domestic football trophy will visit the University of Dundee on this weekend when the Active Nation Scottish Cup goes on display at the Institute of Sport & Exercise.
Football fans will have the chance to test their skills, find out more about getting the family fit and get their picture taken with the trophy when the Road to Hampden tour stops off at ISE on Saturday, April 3rd.
Active Nation Ambassador John Kennedy, the former Celtic and Scotland star, will be on hand to encourage children of all ages and their families to improve their health in 2010.
ISE Director Brian Ewing said he was delighted that they had been chosen as one of the venues for the Road to Hampden tour.
'ISE is delighted to welcome the Active Nations Scottish Cup here to the University,' he said. It is fitting that the cup visits a venue which is working extensively to promote the importance of physical activity and health within a balanced lifestyle.
'Our programmes range from activities for the very young - our successful 'Funfit' programme- through to the not so young ‘seniors’ programme - many of whom will have their own special cup memories, I’m sure.'
Whether you’re football crazy or just want to get a bit more active, but are not sure how to do it, everyone is welcome to come along and take part in the day’s fun-packed programme, which includes:
- Inflatable football fun for kids including SFA skills coaching.
- Family photographs with the oldest national football trophy in world.
- A free goodie bag for every child.
- Scottish Cup highlights screened on a plasma TV.
- Personal Activity Goal teams on hand to help people get more active.
The Active Nation Scottish Cup Road to Hampden tour has been designed to engage with Scotland’s local communities, and get kids and families in Scotland more active and 'match fit' ahead of the cup final in May and beyond.
The event takes place between 11am and 3pm with free entry to all activities.
