7-28 November: Preview: Grafika Polska Exhibition
6-8pm, Cooper Gallery
An exhibition of printmaking works from the Department of Printmaking, University of the Arts, Wroclaw.
The exhibition draws attention to the highly skilled processes which the individual artists are specialists in and use in their own work and teaching, including mezzotint, lithography and etching.

16 November: University Challenge - staff v students
6pm in the Dalhousie Building
You are cordially invited, on behalf of the University and DUSA to attend a University Challenge style evening as part of DUSA Year of Democracy events. Questions will be set by a proper University Challenge question setter with starter and bonus questions across a range of subjects.
The quiz will be chaired by the BBC's Political Editor, Brian Taylor - who promises to be nicer than Jeremy Paxman (but not much).
Tickets are £3.00. The event will be held in aid of local charities.

17 November: British Science Association Lecture Series
Darwin and the roots of the tree of life by Professor Malcolm F. White, Centre for Biomolecular Sciences, University of St. Andrews.
7.00pm, D'Arcy Thompson (Tower) Lecture Theatre, University of Dundee
The vast diversity of life is unified by the molecules that store information: DNA and RNA, suggesting the existence of a last universal cellular ancestor (LUCA) at the root of the tree of life, some 3 billion years ago. This lecture will explore these fundamental issues in evolutionary biology and celebrate the 200th Anniversary of Charles Darwin's birth.
Lecture is free and all welcome.

21 November: Annual Humanities Ball
The Annual Humanities Ball is once again being held at the Hilton Hotel. Tickets are £25 and include drink on arrival, three course meal (veggie option available), dance and free entry to the Union afterwards. Dresscode is formal. You do NOT have to be a student of Humanities to attend. Guests will arrive for the drinks reception at seven, beginning to sit down for the meal at half past. The Union have kindly arranged for buses to pick people up from the Hilton at twelve to take them to the Union.

26 November: Hi-jacked: Scots and the Contested Memory of Robert Burns- Lecture by Professor Christopher Whatley
6pm Lecture Theatre, Dalhousie Building, Old Hawkhill, University of Dundee
Up until the early 20th century, Robert Burns-related events, such as the unveiling of memorials - drew some of the biggest, most fervent crowds ever seen in Scotland. Not Beatlemania but Burnsmania. It is a fitting occasion with which to mark Scotland's national day, St Andrew's Day, on 30 November.
