A Dundee athlete will face his toughest challenge yet when he competes in heats for the Olympics trials in Birmingham tonight.

A new £13m clinical research centre is to receive funding for a PET-CT scanner which will give it facilities matched only in Japan and at Harvard.
The cash pledge for the PET-CT was made by Nicola Sturgeon, Health Secretary, after she toured the new Clinical Research Centre at Ninewells Hospital, which has been developed jointly by the University of Dundee and NHS Tayside.
