Straylight Cavern Exhibition

Photo opportunity with Richard and Milika - please contact Laura Simpson or Jenny Brownrigg 01382 385330

In an exciting exhibition opening tonight in the Cooper Galllery viewers will be able to find their way through tunnels to a magical ice-cave lair where the work of several high profile artists is on show. The exhibition is a collaboration with Richard Priestley and Milika Muritu of Cell Project Space, London and includes diverse and interesting works such as sour dough heads by Jonathan Baldock and space-inspired animations by Michael Bell-Smith, all with a sci-fi feel.

Richard Priestley says that he is spurred on by the teenager in him to recreate fantastical environments which are practically beyond his abilities. He invites the selected artists to embed their work into these spaces, for example in 'Straylight Cavern' Ian Monroe has worked across the walls and floors of the cavern with neon vinyl and 3D mirrored shapes. Cooper Gallery, Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, 13 Perth Road, Dundee.
