Course "shopping" goes online

Language and continuing education courses at the University of Dundee are being made more accessible than ever with all bookings now able to be made through the university’s online shop.

The wide range of day and evening classes are all now open for booking for the autumn semester.

"We wanted to make it as easy as possible for people to book a place on any one of our courses," said Jill McKay, community learning officer at the University.

"We have a really diverse and interesting range of classes for people of all abilities, from teaching basic computing skills to whole study days examining Shakespeare’s plays."

General subject areas on offer include Behavioural Studies, Computing, Fine Art & Design, History, Literature & Creative Writing, Management, Science & Nature and Social Studies and a wide choice of Languages.

"Our Languages for All Programme offers an exciting selection of quality language courses taught by an experienced team of tutors,” said Brigitte Edelston, one of the Programme co-ordinators.

"You can choose from Arabic, Chinese (Mandarin), Dutch, French, Gaelic, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese and Russian, many at different stages. Some languages are available as part of the fast-track day-time undergraduate programme, which is becoming an increasingly interesting option for many people."

As well as courses based at the University campus, there are also some outreach classes in Perth, Forfar and Kirriemuir.

Online bookings can be made at www.buyat.dundee.ac.uk

Special discounts are available this year for introducing a friend to the Continuing Education programmes.

Courses can also still be booked by contacting the Continuing Education department on 01382 385638 or Communication and Language Studies on 01382 385488.
