Scotland's largest halloween fancy dress party

NOTE: Photo opportunities with students in fancy dress are available

Over 3000 students are expected to dress-up for Dundee University Students’ Association’s annual Halloween party tomorrow night (Oct 31st).

Now celebrating its ninth year, organisers of Dundee University Students’ Association’s annual Halloween Fancy Dress Party, believe it is now Scotland’s biggest fancy dress party. With all 2500 advance tickets now sold-out, an estimated 3000 customers are expected to attend in fancy dress over the course of the 8.5 hour event.

The Annual Halloween Fancy Dress Party is quite simply one of the best and busiest nights in the Union’s calendar and has sold-out for the last eight years. It has become such an institution that customers in the Perth Road pubs normally crowd the windows watching the students as they walk by in their fancy dress all heading to the Union.

So what makes Halloween such a popular event at the Union? Quite simply, on Halloween everyone makes an effort and comes in fancy dress. And I mean everyone. There’s no room for party-poopers who won’t dress-up. With over £500 in cash prizes for the best costumes, competition is fierce (but friendly) and the standard of the costumes is excellent. At Halloween you’ll see the richest array of the scariest, spookiest and just the plain skimpiest of costumes outside of the Jim Rose Freakshow. Previous winners have included the entire Kiss line-up, a three man Jabba the Hutt, the Ghostbusters, a very convincing Borg and a thirty strong team of cheerleaders.
