Ewan Manson and Janey Muir are curating an exhibition of works held in Duncan of Jordanstone’s Collection. The selected work will be hung ‘salon’ style within the gallery and the, now emptied, Collections Store will house a collaborative site-specific installation, exhibited alongside individual responses to each other’s artistic practice.

Ewan Manson and Janey Muir are graduates from School of Fine Art at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, University of Dundee.

Janey Muir has exhibited across Scotland and has work in private collections in Aberdeen and Dundee. In early 2007 Janey received a Dundee Visual Artists Award and is using this to help develop work at Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop. Janey has recently been selected for the Guardian Observer Future 500 list.

Since graduating from DJCAD Ewan Manson has exhibited across Scotland and was selected for Braveart 2006 and featured in Generator Projects’ new graduates show They Had Four Years 2007. Ewan has also recently been promoted to the position of Chairman at Generator Projects, Dundee’s artist-led group.

The exhibition will be accompanied by an illustrated talk on Friday 23 November at 4pm within the gallery. The talk, hosted by Manson and Muir, will feature artists whose work has been selected from the Fine Art Collections. There will be presentations by artists Cordelia Underhill and Douglas Gray. Matthew Jarron, Museum Services curator will also talk about the Fine Art Collection and his plans for its future.
