Charities parade

Dundee’s city centre will be awash with colour on Saturday afternoon (March 3rd) as Dundee University Charities committee stage their annual parade through the city centre.

Over 100 students are expected to man a series of floats on their journey from the University’s Institute of Sports and Exercise to the city centre.

"We’ll be looking to make plenty of noise and provide plenty of colour for entertainment for people out doing their Saturday afternoon shopping," said Gurjeet Minhas, president of Dundee University Charities committee.

Many of the student societies at the University will be represented in the parade, many of them in fancy dress and with Gurjeet promising "a few surprises" along the way.

All monies raised during the parade will go to the charities which the committee is supporting this year - Sightsavers, Samaritans, M-line and Northern Irish Children's Association.

The parade is set to leave the Institute of Sports and Exercise at 1 pm on Saturday.
