Deviants Exhibiton

Matthew Gallery
Deviants presents curious works that deviate wildly from what we think of as traditional craft. Accompanying the exhibition is an alternative gallery guide written by the Dundee-based writer and artist The Lonely Piper. This is a Crafts Council Touring Exhibition and has been selected by the 'Past, Present and Future Craft Practice' research team who are exploring new directions, practices and perspectives in contemporary craft and are based at the University.

Spooky fun at the Botanics including ghost walks, spooky storytelling and badgemaking. Booking is essential. Tickets cost £4 per person with children aged three and under free. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

In the current climate of collaborations between art and science, this exhibition investigates the practices of four artists based in USA. Focusing on the rights and wrongs of ownership and reproduction in relation to new technologies, this unorthodox body of work questions the role of science and art in our lives.

'In the Footsteps of Isabella Bird: Adventures in Twin Time Travel' exhibition

Lamb Gallery, Tower Building
As part of the Japan-UK 150 celebrations, the University's Museum Services has mounted an exhibition of photographs by Kiyonori Kanasaka, a geography professor from Kyoto University who was a visiting professor in Dundee last year. Prof Kanasaka has travelled the world following in the footsteps of the daring Victorian lady traveller and writer Isabella Bird. His stunning photographs (around 100 of which will be on display) explore both change and continuity in some of the most spectacular places on Earth.
