Law School Event

Some of the leading criminal justice figures from around Tayside will expose themselves to questioning from students in the School of Law next month.

The School is hosting a "Question Time" event with an expert panel on Tuesday October 16th, featuring Tayside Police Chief Constable John Vine, Sheriff Richard Davidson, Mrs Betty Bott, Interim District Procurator Fiscal, Edinburgh and Haddington, and Mr George Donnelly, a partner with Lawson, Coull & Duncan Solicitors in Dundee and Vice Dean of the Dundee Bar Association.

"We are very fortunate to have such a range of expert panellists willing to give up their time to engage directly with students," said Professor Fiona Raitt from the School of Law.

"Many of our graduates go on to work with the procurator fiscal service as well as in legal defence work and quite a few join the police. The art of questioning is a necessary skill required of all solicitors and advocates and we are hoping that students will have fun testing out these skills and observing the panel in action. Law students at all levels are encouraged to come along and take part in the debates."

The event is being organised for the benefit of law students and will be held at 6 p.m. in the Conference Room of the Baxter Suite, Tower Building.
