The annual Neil Glen Memorial Shield football match saw pride restored for the University team as they defeated their counterparts from Dundee College to level the series at two wins apiece.

The match has been held since 2004 as a memorial to the late Mr Glen, a graduate of the University and a former member of staff and local city councillor, who died in 2004.

The University team ran out 4-1 winners in this year's instalment, boosted by a Kieran Clifford hat-trick, with Gilbert Valentine netting the other strike. Dundee MSP Marlyn Glen presented the Shield to the victorious University team at the Riverside playing fields.

The Man of the Match award, sponsored by Steve Flack in the School of Design at Duncan of Jordanstone, was unsurprisingly given to Kieran Clifford. The match was organised by Sean Donaldson, floor supervisor at Bonar Hall, who passes on his thanks to all those who took part.
