MBE for Professor Maclean
Professor Will Maclean has been honoured with an MBE from the Queen.
Professor Maclean joined Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design in 1981 and was made professor of Fine Art in 1994. He is now Emeritus Professor at the College and widely regarded as among the foremost artists in Scotland today.
One of Professor Maclean's greatest impacts has been the reinvigoration of Scottish Art in the late twentieth century and he was a key member of the team that produced the Great Book of Gaelic (Leabhar Morn a Gailig) in 2003, a seminal publication that brought together Irish and Scottish artists and poets to celebrate Celtic Art.
Professor Maclean is internationally recognised for his contribution to box construction art and has, as a teacher, influenced many of today's established and emerging artists.
