College of Life Sciences launches two new research divisions

The Division of Environmental and Applied Biology at the College of Life Sciences has been re-configured into two new divisions: Molecular and Environmental Microbiology and Plant Sciences.

Molecular and Environmental Microbiology (MEM), headed by Geoff Gadd with Tracy Palmer as Deputy Head, has recently been moved to the second floor of the Medical Sciences Institute (MSI). The division also includes Geoffrey Codd, Frank Sargent and Nicola Stanley-Wall.

The Division of Plant Sciences has been created by the recent affiliation of Scottish Crop Research Institute (SCRI) scientists John Brown and Paul Birch to the College of Life Sciences at the University of Dundee. They will be joining CLS Principal Investigators Andy Flavell, Claire Halpin, Steve Hubbard, Lynn Jones, John Raven, Gordon Simpson and whose labs are at the SCRI. The Head of the Division of Plant Sciences is John Brown, with Claire Halpin as Deputy Head.
