MP VISITS POLITICS STUDENTS

Dundee West MP Jim McGovern recently paid a return visit to Politics students.

Mr McGovern welcomed the students to the House of Commons last month and accepted the return invitation to come and see them at the University, which lies within his constituency.

Mr McGovern's experiences at Westminster are providing the students with an invaluable insight into life at the frontline of British politics.

First 'Java Online' Students Receive Awards

The first group of school pupils and teachers trained under a pioneering new course which allows distance learning and part-time study have completed their studies.

The six-week course teaches programming in Java. Unusually, all the teaching and learning materials are delivered online, via the University's virtual learning environment, Blackboard.

Students worked online with each other and with a University tutor, to learn fundamental software development skills with the popular programming language, Java.
