Are you making the best use of your space?

The University has an objective to maximize all useable space while at the same time providing an environment that supports activity and creativity by encouraging teamwork and breaking down barriers.

Building Space Manager Marianne Kenley says, "Our physical environment reflects the values of our organization, and can encourage new patterns of work to develop, facilitate responsiveness to continuous organizational change and generate pride in the workplace."

"By using space more efficiently and effectively we can also reduce costs, leaving more funds for other activities."

The Space Management Group is the key forum for dealing with space allocation, policies and procedures in the University with the objective to effectively manage the University's space allocation.

"By becoming more aware of space and making more effective use of what we have, by co-locating teams for example, or by taking a flexible approach to room use, we can support academic activity, enhance operational effectiveness and reduce costs or redirect existing funds," Marianne says.

Any staff with questions or in need of help in planning or making better use of their space is welcome to contact Marianne on extension 88874. Staff seeking additional space are advised to fill out the correct form on the Estates & Buildings website: www.dundee.ac.uk/estates/space/gen.htm
