The Botanic Garden won a Gold medal at this years Dundee Food and Flower festival with its show garden 'From Algae to Angiosperms'. The presentation showed the evolution of plants from 1200 million years ago to the more modern day angiosperms of 120 million years ago. Botanic Garden curator Alasdair Hood said that the Orchid was probably the most 'modern' plant at only 30 million years old. Alasdiar would be keen to talk to any department that might want to join him and his team on a collaborative presentation for next year's Food and Flower festival
