Swedish visitors check out Dundee

Following on from Professor Sir Philip Cohen’s visit to Linkoping, Sweden to talk about the success of Dundee’s biosciences, a delegation from Sweden has returned to the University and seen for themselves the burgeoning industry in life and biosciences in the city.

Fourteen delegates including senior decision makers from Linkoping University, the City’s Civic representatives and the Chief Executive Officer at the Mjardevi Science Park arrived in Dundee this month to meet with the city’s leaders in the biotechnology industry.

Professor Sir Philip Cohen, Director of Research at the University of Dundee’s School of Life Sciences welcomed the delegates and gave them an overview of the city’s biotech activities. The delegates then met Professor Roland Wolf from the University’s Biomedical Research Centre and Professor Peter Downes, Dean of the Faculty of Life Sciences.

Professor Philip Cohen said, "I am delighted that such a large and important delegation is coming from Linkoping to view Biomedical, Life Sciences and Biotechnology in Dundee. I hope that their visit is really fruitful and helps them to exploit their major strengths, which are at the interface of Biomedical Science and Engineering."
